One Name, Three Very Different Places
Whittington covers a good deal of ground north of Chesterfield, and the three parts of it could hardly be more different. Whittington Moor is busy, commercial and close to the retail parks. Old Whittington climbs the hill and holds the area's history. New Whittington is largely twentieth-century residential. We work in all three.
That variety is genuinely useful to us, because it means we see the full range of system types within a couple of miles: Victorian terraces with original chimneys, post-war semis with tired system boilers, and flats above shops with awkward flue arrangements.
Whatever the property, the offer is the same. Free quotes, fixed prices agreed before work begins, Gas Safe registered engineers and no attempt to sell you a boiler you do not need.
What We Find in Whittington Homes
New Whittington's housing is mostly inter-war and post-war, laid out on regular streets with reasonably consistent construction. These properties usually took central heating from the 1970s onwards and many have since had one or two boiler changes. The pipework is often original, which is the main constraint when somebody wants a modern high-output combi.
Old Whittington is a different matter. The streets around Church Street North and the hill include genuinely old stone and brick property, some of it in the conservation area near Revolution House. Flue positions need care here, and the walls are frequently thicker than a standard flue kit expects.
Whittington Moor brings a mix of residential and commercial. Flats above shops along Sheffield Road and Whittington Moor itself often have shared or restricted routes for flues and condensate, and the heating is frequently an afterthought from an earlier conversion. We have dealt with enough of these locally to know what tends to work.
Across all three, the most common single job remains the same: replacing a boiler that has passed its useful life with something correctly sized, properly flushed and set up to actually condense.

New Boilers Across Whittington
Whittington replacements are usually about getting the fundamentals right rather than exotic technology. The right output for the actual heat loss, pipework capable of supporting it, a thorough flush before the new appliance goes on, a magnetic filter to keep it clean, and controls that let the boiler run at the flow temperature it was designed for.
In Old Whittington we will check the flue route before quoting, because thick stone walls and conservation considerations occasionally rule out the obvious position. There is nearly always a workable alternative.
Installations include warranty registration on your behalf, up to twelve years on selected models, and 0% finance is available subject to status.

Whittington Boiler FAQs
Do you cover Old Whittington and Whittington Moor as well as New Whittington?
Yes, all three. They are close together and we work across the whole of S41 regularly.
My house in Old Whittington has very thick walls. Will a modern flue fit?
In nearly every case, yes, using an extended flue kit. It is worth us checking before quoting so the right parts are on the van when we arrive.
Is my 20 year old boiler worth repairing?
It depends on the specific fault and whether parts are still available. Sometimes a modest repair buys another few years and is clearly the right call. Sometimes the part is obsolete and the money is better spent on a replacement. We will tell you which situation you are in without dressing it up.
Can you fit a boiler in a flat above a shop?
Usually, but flue and condensate routing needs to be checked first, and there may be freeholder considerations. We will look at it and be straight with you about what is possible.
How fast can you reach Whittington?
Very quickly. It is only a few minutes north of our Chesterfield base and same-day attendance for breakdowns is the norm.
Do you charge for quotations?
No. Quotes are free and carry no obligation, whether you go ahead or not.
